(BF3) is the latest iteration of this first person shooter game and it
packs a punch! Releasing October 25, 2011, this sequel to Battlefield 2
(released in 2005) will be ready just in time for Christmas. This is the
eleventh installment in the Battlefield franchise.
battlefield 3 multiplayer guide What's New in Battlefield 3? New to the Battlefield 3 are voice communications, game statistics, and built-in text messaging in a platform called "Battlelog." Friends on the same platform can join other friends in games already in progress. The multiplayer roles in this new version of Battlefield are: Assault, Engineer, Recon, and Support. Additionally, BF3 has elements such as 64-player battles, fighter jets, the prone position, something that was absent in the Bad Company games. There probably won't be a Commander Mode included in Battlefield 3. Also new is a co-op mode, enabling players to track their performance and beat the scores of their friends, but in co-op mode, a split screen option won't be available. Also new is the implementation of an Online Pass system. The original purchaser/owner of Battlefield 3 receives one Online Pass to access the online multiplayer mode. For people who buy used copies of the game, they will pay a fee for an Online Pass. Battlefield 3 Campaign Setting & Plot Set in 2014 Staff Sergeant Blackburn is on a mission to locate and safely return a squad whose last known location was in a militia controlled market. The missing squad had been tasked to investigate possible chemical weapons sites. The campaign is set near the Iraq-Iran border, where the US Marine Corps are fighting the People's Liberation and Resistance (PLR). Blackburn and his squad endure a massive earthquake centered in Iran and Blackburn's fate is unknown. In steps Corporal Jono Miller to lead a tank assault against the enemy. BF3, with its beautifully crafted graphics, leaves you in awe at the sheer size and scale of every element of the game. Characters have a depth to them and are developed completely both as to background, and graphics. You can feel the thrill of battle and see bullets whiz past you, feel the buildings crumble and the explosions rock the ground. Environments and locations experienced throughout this game include New York, Teheran and Paris. A New Revved-Up Engine - Frostbite 2 (F2) The new engine will resolve the complaints that most games had about the PC version of the previous Battlefield installments. The new engine, called Frostbite 2 or F2, will better simulate the sights and sounds of destruction. Additionally, the updated Frostbite 2 engine will be able to more realistically portray dense urban areas. The new F2 engine was designed by Digital Illusions CE (DICE). DICE claims that Battlefield 3 was specifically built for the PC platform in order to provide better graphics, better sound and seamless PC gameplay. It is available in 64 bit. Key Characteristics Battlefield 3, combined with the new Frostbite 2 technology, will provide the highest ranking lighting, effects, audio, and video destruction possible. These all contribute to an addictive first person shooter game that immerses gamers mentally and emotionally into a sort of alternate future Earth 2014. Here's what to expect in the newest Battlefield game: - More weapons - More players - More tanks - Jets - Unparalleled infantry and vehicular warfare Add all of these features above with the best graphics possible and crisp surround sound quality and you've got yourself a real winner. The console version will have a maximum of 24 players but the PC version will accommodate 64 players. This means that no matter which console is played, you will experience battle in a grand scale and with better graphics to boot. A reminder though: when playing BF, don't stop to admire the destruction you have caused or it will be "Game Over" for you. Battlefield 3 Compared to Modern Warfare 3 The primary platform for Battlefield 3 will be the PC while Modern Warfare does not have an identifiable primary platform. Both games run in multiple platforms, of course, but designating one as the principal means that one platform works best and provides maximum gameplay above all others. Battlefield 3 operates on the new Frostbite 2 engine while Modern Warfare 3 runs on an older Infinity Ward engine. Both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 are excellent games in their own right and some gamers do not even consider pitting one against another arguing that it's like comparing apples and oranges. But with the Frostbite 2 Engine, Battlefield 3 is starting to look like one awesome apple.
